Hotels

Consider staying at a nice ski hotel in france. At the nicer hotels in the area, you may not be as close as with a chalet, however you will find things cheaper and may have more amenities than if staying at the resort. If location is an issue for you, then consider staying at one of the resorts hotel rooms.

Self catering?

If your budget does allow this kind of accommodation, figure out how much you are willing to spend. Two types are offered, one with a personal chef at all times and the other with meals included. With the meals included, you are only using a personal chef once a day at dinnertime, so you may find yourself paying a little less than the latter.

location

Think about the chalet location. Those that are closer and with the option to ski right out your door usually cost more and have less within the chalet.
